Okay we are not done with your domain name hunt, but I wanted to address the website. I use a script that isnt hard to use, and it built this site and you can make amazing websites with it. I’ve only built a few sites with software, and none looked like the picture I saw in my head. In 2000 there was only one software that was user friendly, and cheap. I built a decent looking site with it and I was having fun. Bit more on that in a second.
Many hosting companies have website builders included with your hosting. You can likely spend 3-5 hours and build something that doesnt look bad. One friend built one, and myself and a friend who owns a web design company thought it looked fine. You are not some huge corporation, your customers are looking for you to spend a fortune on this and I think you are nuts. A site is not going to bring a flock of people to your store, nor will they likely say I found you on the internet, but it will likely be some, for years.
I just did a search, found a new store to go look at, and some details for you. The new site I found was #2 and it didnt look bad, it was only 4 pages. It left off something I like, to follow below. The 3rd listing was basicly a directory listing with 31 results. Most of the main players were there, the new guy wasnt. I clicked on one and no site. And one I saw I know was bull dozed about 10 years ago. I want a website to make sure they are still in business and do they look okay.
Like I said, your site really doesnt need much. I so find you at middle earth plumbing, Im only really want a few things. I come to your “store” and there is me, or a picture, what we offer, and links to our few other pages. Plumbing is perhaps bad example since many dont have a office/storefront, but stick with me. I just want a little basic info about the company and what you carry. Are you the cheapest, is your service the best, whatever you take as your keystone.
Next where are you? At the base of your page I think they should all have your business name, address and phone number, thats as much as the phone book had when people used them. I looked at their other pages, and while fine, I dont need much for me to head that way. I want a few pictures, the outside and at least one of the store as I walk in. And many dont do this but it is very helpful to me. I think at least one page should be business hours, and a map. What most dont do is to give me pictures of the mall. GO DOWN the street both ways, and take a picture of the the mall and add them next to the map. Almost forgot one thing, email address. I’ll expand on this later, but likely want to leave off to start with….bots will spam you like crazy.
I found you, your pics and info is enough for me to give you a chance. I see the hours, look at the map, and know about where you are, and I see the mall I just saw the picture of…I turn in and see another picture I just looked at. That means a lot to me. I hate passing the address, or having to look for them as I drive. I saw the mall I got in lane, made the turn and saw the store. You got you a potential customer who didnt know about you an hour ago, and looking for your product line in your city.
